997s going dramatically up in value is
I think it's Polish but it also looks like where the 911 is headed. Sooner or later the 911 will just like an oversized version of the key fob.
It's a cross between the 911, the 928, a Panamera, and what ever Aston Martin did in 2022. Plus it has the oversize logo just like thouse douchebaggy Ralph Lauren shirts did a few years ago.
( PS: There's no better way to tell people from 200 yds away "I have no taste and can't afford Brunello Cucinelli" )
Ladies and gentlemen - introducing the 2026 911.... you saw it here first. (that's a trailer hitch in the back) It's very aero.

SUV. SUV. CUV. SUV. SUV. SUV. CUV. CUV. CUV. 9,000 911's sold, 22,000 Macans, 13,000 Cayennes.
It's only a matter of time before the 911 gets a 1" lift, black plastic cladding on the fenders, rear bench to seat three*, factory hitch receiver, assortment of roof-mounted racks for bikes and skis, and opening back glass to claim the most cargo room in it's class.

That photo-shopped abomination looks uncomfortably awkward.

I sold my 2006 C2S 6MT, 62k Miles for $45k. It was a $106k build. My Indy purchased it as he knew the maintenance was done (and he knew who did it), and the mods were what he would have done. So, the market is good for 997.1’s despite the misplaced fear of the IMS non-issue for models beyond 2005.
I think it’s just a case of if you have the right car for the right buyer everyone is happy. Good price for the seller and buyer.

IMS "non-issue" beyond 2005? There was another recent poster saying the same thing. Here: https://rennlist.com/forums/showpost...0&postcount=18
Are there reasonable suspension upgrades that could improve handling? I asked Elephant for a quote, and they had almost $6,000 worth of parts to upgrade the car. I might as well get a 991 if I go that route.
I wish I could combine the 997 road feel, 6MT box, and steering with 991 handling. After driving my wife's 991 C2S manual cab, my 997.2 C4S feels like my sailboat in light winds. It is a sloppy, flexy car in comparison.

I'd be looking closely at your tires on the 997 - belt separation or something else ?

If all these cases of failure were an epidemic as people say Porsche would never sell a new car and resale prices would plummet.
