Default Got my “new” 2012 Carrera GTS Cabriolet....YES!!!!

Ive been lurking on rennlist forever, and I’ve been looking at the 911s for the last 10 years and never found the right car or had the money for the car that was right. After a lot of patience, my wife of all people, found the car for me.

Quick story: my wife and I have been really doing research about the 2019 Cayenne. After much thought, we ordered one and I used my 2016 Mustang Shelby GT350 as a down payment. Knowing I would eventually get a replacement toy, I was happy to fork over my toy so my wife could have a beautiful new Cayenne. While ordering her car, an older gentleman brought this 2012 Carrera GTS Cab to the dealer to trade for his new car. My wife was there at the time and immediately took notice. She sent me pics and basically asked for latitude on working the deal. I told her what my top dollar for paying for the car, and needless to say...it’s sitting in my garage!!! It has a PDK trans. Alcantara interior, Sport Chrono plus, bi-xenon headlights, nav, killer Bose sound system, sport leather seats, heated seats. MSRP was $132k. Car has 39k miles and is a CPO.

This car isn’t as quick or as powerful as my Shelby, but it is so much more enjoyable to drive. The handling is incredible. The exhaust note is hypnotizing, and I could
not be more happy with the car. Thanks everyone for checking out the pics. This is the first time I’ve posted pics so I probably screwed it up!

Congrats!! Nice ride. Full leather is a must-have in my opinion. Rare option on the GTS models, but it totally transforms the interior.

Great find. Not many GTS cabs out there to begin with. Add full leather and 5 lug wheels instead of centerlocks and you probably have a rare one. I realize you just got the car and it may be a temporary solution but it looks like you are you powering your radar detector from the cigarette lighter in the passenger foot well. In case you're not aware, there are a number of brackets that mount to the rear view mirror where you can make the power cord invisible by hardwiring it to the home link cluster just above. Picture of mine attached.

Thx everyone. I appreciate everyone’s comments. I’ve been a mustang fan since I was a kid, but now that I’m in the Porsche im afraid the bug has bitten me. I see more Porsche’s in my garage’s future.

I did have it plugged in below. Thx for the advice. Which wire do you splice into? Do you remove some of the casing and tie into it or is there a specific kit that keeps you from cutting the existing assembly?

Beautiful car! It's always nice to see another Cabriolet and PDK. They seem to be the bastard stepchildren around here!

Wish I could tell you. Had some warranty work done on my home link cluster and just asked the dealer to do it while they were in there. No charge. The link below is to a mount near identical to the one I have. Beats the suction cup solution imo. They make it for all the common brands of detectors: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Nice-Car-Mount-For-The-Rear-Mirror-Escort-8500-Series-Solo-S2-S3-Radar-Detector/122970560981?epid=1779307185&hash=item1ca19dd9d5:g:I-AAAOSwCGVX7vKM
