How many Porsche have you owned?
Bored today so thought I'd spend some time counting Porsche cars owned.
Pretty sure it's about 42 drivers over the past 36 years. Some of my 356's were purchased as donor cars and not counting those.
I was 23 yrs old when I bought my 1st Porsche - A silver/black 928s - Fun car.
Wish I had taken photos of all my cars - Fun looking back at them.
.
Now at 59 yrs old enjoying my 2007 C4S

That's a good long and blessed Porsche life you have lived so far. Lot's of wonderful memories and adventures for sure. I see many more coming your way in the future as well. Once you take the Porsche Red Pill it's hard to imagine yourself in anything else. I am a Porsche enthusiast for life now. Have been for a long time. I am small potatoes in number, but have been a porsche owner myself almost 20 years. 5 total Porsches owned. Still have 4 and still own my first Porsche which is a 986 Boxster that I did a 996 3.4 engine conversion to. My problem is that I get so attached and tend to hold on to my cars for a very long time and I have run out of garage space. Would love to add an air cooled and GT3 to the stable some day soon. Just need some garage racks. Keep the dream alive and thanks for sharing those pics. Good times...

I have to say my favorites are the 356A and 77 911s and I really enjoy my 2007 C4S
When I was 20 years younger, driving my 1959 356 super sunroof down to LA and San Francisco from Seattle was always a fun time because you never knew what to expect. I probably did that drive 6-7x in my 356 during summers to avoid the crazy weather in the Siskyous. The 356 ran so hot that you have to constantly keep an eye on things and hope for the best. Always an adventure.
I once drove down to the LA swap meet and back to Seattle in my 1983 911sc Cabriolet - That was a January trip and incredibly dangerous driving home during snow storm - Huge tractor trailers spitting snow on windshield in mountains leaving you blind for a second or 2. I'll never forget how scary that was. Sort of like cruising my boat in small craft advisories
My 77 911S had great weight to HP ratio and was nimble as hell - Was always a bulletproof inexpensive car to own and mine was pretty much stock but lowered 1" and had Nardi steering wheel.
I really do love driving my 2007 C4S - They are just great driving cars and now that I'm close to 60 yrs old I appreciate good heating/AC and comfortable seats. I think they look awesome.
Great stereo drowns out my wife's constant bitching about driving too fast.

I had 3 996 C4S's - 1 in silver and 2 in seal grey - only one in seal grey is in photos, can't find the 2nd - 2 of them had the PSE and I have that on my 07 C4S - Can't beat that exhaust sound.
...I also think the 996 C4S is a great car but I am partial to the later model 997 C4S. Prefer the round headlight and body style much better. Cars handle pretty much the same.

Welp...77s in my opinion was best looking of your collection. On my 3rd 997 (wifey has cayenne), but got the fever for an SC. I don’t want to replace my 997...would want as 3rd car.
What was your least favorite? How long would you keep them on average?

I am on my second, the first was a 1966 S I got real cheap in 1970. It was very slow, prone to swapping ends and going straight in the snow when you wanted to turn. I figured people who liked them had inhaled too many gas fumes.

Yeah I used to have the whole wife thing down - Everything I would buy would be 1/2 the actual cost(wink-wink).
It got so confusing I finally tripped up a few times.
Wife got pissed, blah blah blah and now for the past 4 years I had to start minding.
Only 1 Porsche at a time. I kept many of the aircooled cars for a long time - My 1959 356 super sunroof I kpet for 20 years and restored it in Ukiah Ca.
The most uncomfortable wife story would have to be the time I bought a 79 308 Ferrari and when it arrived from San Fran, I took my wife to taco Time drive thru in it. She was just whimpering in passengers seat like something died.
She was upset her briefcase wouldn't fit anywhere. It was bazaar so I put the car up for sale the next day.

Since then I’ve owned a 79 and an 84 (gray market) 911, an 01 and an 02 911 TT, an 01 base Carrera, an 04 GT3, and my current stable listed in my signature line. You could say I’m a fan of the marque.
