Default Considering a used 997 lowered with h&r springs

Looks nice, rides a bit hard and hard to get over transitions, but doesn’t bottom out. PASM seems to still work, although sport mode is pretty much overkill now.

Good deal, or run away from a modded car?

I have H&R springs on my 997.1S. I love how it changed the looks being lowered. If you don’t like the feel of the ride don’t push the Pasm button.

Can you give us more details, year, mileage, options, color, history? The stance can really make a difference in how these cars look and ride but many think the trade off is worth it. I personally don't mind the stiffer ride. The wheels can make this better or worse also. What is on it?

‘06 C2S, arctic silver body on black colored oem ‘S’ wheels (295/30/19 In back), 70k miles, looks about an extra 1” drop from stock (sitting next to another standard S the drop was noticeable), no signs of fender run although it looks tight.

I can handle the stiffness, my main concerns are scraping, whether this shortens the lifespan of the pasm system, or is at all indicative of a hard life on the car.

H&R springs are really rough... EIbach has a much better ride, luckily it is a relatively cheap swap out if you also do not like the H&R

Also, being that the car has effectively been hitting bumps really hard for the time that it had those springs, it's likely that the car has/will develop rattles

H&R springs are great - My 07 997C4S is lowered 1" with the H&R's - PASM still is functional with them on and the ride is superb - Not rough and car looks amazing. *Try and locate adaptive power sport seats - They are amazing too.

Can the car still be aligned properly with 1" lowering springs? Hows the tire wear?

Same here. Wouldn't have it any other way. I will also never understand those who bitch about the ride on H&R springs. No way I can tell the difference from stock.

See comment above. Agree 100%.

Any issues with it causing extra wear - like on tires (alignment) or pasm system (making it work harder)?

Yes. Lowering it will definitely shorten the life of the rear tires. Not sure about the fronts. I've been getting around 10K miles on the rears and double that on the fronts pretty consistently with H&R's on three 997's. However, they made some "adjustments" when they mounted the latest set of rears on my current GTS and it looks like it made a difference. Based on what I'm seeing now I should get another 2K to 4K miles on the rears this time. Some guys here claim to get upwards of 20K miles on the rears on lowered cars. Sounds impossible based on what I've seen on three cars but I guess it's possible based on driving style, mechanics setting up the suspension, brand of tires etc. I've had nothing but Michelins on my cars.

Just wanted to ad that on my 07 C4S I have H&R Springs with stock 19" wide body Lobster Claw wheels and the fitment is great.

Iam on H&R's, and I absolutely love them.... Love the stance, but the ride is a little harsher than stock, although well worth it.

It's not the ride i'm worried about (and I like the look and feel!), it's the potential extra wear and tear and, in particular, scraping the front lip of the car getting in and out of my work's parking garage and my garage at home.
