Default Engine replaced by dealership

found an 05 997 coupe tiptronic with 70k miles
On Carfax 5/17/07 engine was replaced at 18,487miles by Pacific Torrence Porsche
Does this means that the IMS has been replace with an upgraded one or there is a chance ims will fail again
will the Pacific Porsche will release the spec of the replacement?
i have not pulled a trigger or ppi
asking $29k kind of high side ( I think)

Most likely in 2007, the replacement was a big bearing replacement engine.

Assuming the engine did take care of the IMS, 29K does not sound too bad with only 19K on the motor, but you might negotiate a few thousand lower because it has the TIP.

Send me the details, if you didn't buy, I know someone who might. That sounds like a great deal with NEW engine!

Check underneath, behind the driver's side rear wheel, above the oil pan. If it was replaced, it should have an AT in there. If it is, 29K is not a bad a price for a documented replacement with the updated IMS bearing.
