Ha - VIPmotoz are clueless abut this. "OHHH, we've never seen this before....". Sounds like you designed it this way!!

DEPO by FARRRR looks the best and closest to OEM, all of the above scream aftermarket to me!

Could these be programmed to work as DRL?

not sure about programming on a 997.1 but you can do a hack.

FYI, I'm looking at selling my LED tail lights and front fogs (switching things up for something different). They're in like-new condition. VIP Motoz clear (non-tinted) red tail lights with smooth lightbar style running light. Front led fog/running lights/turn signal. See my other posts.

PM me if interested.

Default LED Headlight Bulbs Fanless 6000k white

I dont want to change the headlight just want to get a good bulb I found "Sealight H11 H9 H8 Headlight Bulbs Fanless 6000K White Low Beam H16 Fog lights CSP Halogen Headlight Replacement 30W 5000 Lumens" does anyone know if this will work as a direct plug and play bulb and if not can anyone recommend a good bright Headlight bulb
Thanks ahead of time for any suggestions

I think you just copied the title of a sale post in Amazon or eBay that might list multiple applications (multiple products)

I assume you have halogen lights in your 997.
Low beam is a H7 55W halogen bulb - a good recommendation is the Osram Night Breaker Laser
It throws around 1500 lumens of light which should be ok - better than the one that came from the factory.
This being a "standard" halogen bulb, it might be a bit yellowish (3500K or so I think, but in that area)
https://www.osram.com/ecat/NIGHT%20B...t/ZMP_4057697/

I don't know if aftermarket LED bulbs are functionally superior and reliable to existing solutions yet.
H7 is the size you need to get - 6000K might have a bit of a blue tinge. It looks cool, but it might rob away 10% of the output (lumens) compared to 4500K.
5500K is a good balance to get a pure white colour and still not lose much lumens.

I did this "research" a while back and decided to do a HID upgrade for my car (35W ballast, 5500K bulbs that give out 3400 lumens)
I went with the Morimoto Elite system (sold by LightWerkz). If you choose this route, you will need the "H7B" type bulb.
It's still sitting in my garage shelf - I'll get to it one of these days.

Don't worry, since the 997 came with projectors, you won't end up blinding everyone on the road with HID bulbs.
You might need to adjust the level correctly to have the right cutoff line.

I think the high beam is a H9 and unfortunately we don't have a lot of options there.
There's a "standard" crap bulb - but it's the high beam - which you would use rarely (unless you're one of "those" drivers)
If you are going the HID route, in theory you could find a bi-xenon HID bulb and feed the high beam power wire to it so that you have HID high beams as well.
I haven't looked into how easy it is to do for a 997 yet.. but I'm fine with just low beams being HID.

How cool is it to even have all these options? Personally, I like the factory lights best, the last of old school lighting, vintage even.

I think the OEM Xenon lamps are by Philips and, those are D2S bulbs - so you will need the proper ballast. I think the OEM one is by Denso Koito, also used in the 350Z From what I've read, Philips and Osram have very good D2S bulbs. I went with Morimoto because they're much cheaper than the other 2 options and are pretty good for the money - and the main thing is that the HID bulb mounts correctly w.r.t the housing (H7B). Most off-the-shelf H7 HID bulbs sit upside down in European cars, and that results in poor lighting. Morimoto has a H7A (same as off-the-shelf H7) and a H7B for European cars. If you do order via LightWerkz, they have a first-time buyer promo code on their site (something like 25-30% off)

Haha.. We all are ignorant to varying levels on varying matters. You might know something about the car in great detail that I've not even heard of - that's why this forum is a great place to learn new things

IIRC the S cars came with the Xenons as standard. For us plebes that have a base Carrera, it was an option.
You can go to https://vinanalytics.com/ and put in your car's VIN and it will show the list of options the car was ordered with.
P74 is the option for the "Bi-Xenon Headlamp Package"

If so, then you will need the Xenon D2S bulbs. The halogen light's color is more yellow whereas the Xenon lamps are white(r).
Just hop over to PelicanParts and put in your car's details and it will show you what bulbs you need.
You don't need to buy it from them necessarily, but you can see what specification you need the bulbs in.
Philips 85122C1, Hella D2S 4300K, Bosch D2S are all available.
