I AM FREE NOW!! Haha. ...but seriously, IMO, do not mod or get rid of your stockers!!
+1 on keeping stock tail lights. To me, the lines look cleaner and feels true to the car.

I think the OE solid red tail lights look far better on the 997.1 than any of the aftermarket LED units.

Thanks. I'm thinking of giving it a very light tint in the mid area.

I looked at all the aftermarket LED tail lights for my 997.1 c4s, and finally decided that none of them looked better than stock 997.1. I eventually went with the full 997.2 update and the clear tails. I couldnt be more happy with the update. Highly recommended. It just seems to be an overall much cleaner modern look. And at night in use, they look incredible.

My advice... skip the aftermarket and just do the 997.2 rear update if you want the LED tails.

another crappy pic of a test fit with a wing

these ones. Just make sure the center console is set to middle or else they won’t work In foot wells and you think you did something wrong.

Your tears look great. I agree a bit dark when parked and off, otherwise money. Always keep the originals any mod

What color is your car? Mine is basalt black.

They a semi-smoked version that’s red/smoked tint (rather than full tint) - would that be better or worse?

Mine is midnite blue. I think it's a bit much wht/chrome. I should of get the smoked version. But oh well. I can always give it a light tint. Too lazy to do it..lol.
I did a quick cheesy photoshop & I think I like it..

Yeah, even with the quick photoshop it looks a little better. My ideal would be a 991-style look, or the new macan. I saw the lights today on a dark gray macan and they are definitely smoked.

My my only concern would be if the light tint would make the brake lights too dim.

Is the thin brake light really bright and noticeable?

they look plenty bright to me, & yeah I too worry about the brightness if it's dark. I guess one way to find out & just tinted if I ever get to it. lol

I tried a slightly better photoshop. Below that is Spec-D's "official" image (which honestly looks not amazing).

One final option: go all out smoke
Amazon Amazon

Does anyone have experience with something like this? Is this a safety hazard during the day if the lights are off?
