Default So long 997, hello 991!

Just sold my 997.1 (I swore this day would never happen) and just completed a PPI on a 2015 991 Sport Design Edition. A very clean mechanical report with a couple of cosmetic items. It is also my first non-manual 911....but the PDK in my wife’s Macan S has spoiled me, so the 991 has PDK.

I’ll be over on the 991 page but will still be checking in on the 997 crowd....lots of great advise and great looking 911s!

As we say at the track....keep it out of the gravel!

Going to miss you Mike. But congrats on the upgrade. Come back with pictures and impressions. As has been repeated many times to the question of which 911 ... the newest one you can afford. Well done!!!

Still have to “close the deal”.....flying out tomorrow morning to put eyes on the car. But the numbers are good and I’m bringing cash. Then probably 4-5 days for transport.

So pictures next week.

Sold it to my Indy....duck and all!

He heard my mumble at last weekends PCA meeting that I was looking and called me the next day.

Wayne....I’m sure I’ve posted several times how I would never part with the 997....even did some homework on dropping in a FSI 4.0.

But I have a weakness for red cars, and the 991 is red, and it was calling me. My Indy bought the 997.....Besides knowing the 997 is in a good place and the fact that my Indy’s parents are my next door neighbors means I’ll see it nearly every weekend!

I report back with my opinion.

Sorry to see you go, but congrats. Hope you got a good deal so you can start a speeding ticket reserve fund. I never got more tickets than when I had a red Porsche and I drive faster cars now - notice not a red one in the bunch. You'll see what I mean shortly.
