Considering buying a 997

My mistake, the M4 is actually 2016. I took possession of the car in Apr 2016. The M4 is a good car with good power, but I feel like the new M is too bulky for me. It actually feels like a muscle car sometimes and I have to say I prefer naturally aspired engines. The interior is full beige. I'm going to ask for a test drive to see how it performs.

At the 49k USD mark, you should be able to enter into the 991 model cars. I sold my 997 TT CAB and am very happy with my C2S CAB. I did purchase a CPO car for just over 50k. The higher mile cars do not concern me if it is a factory CPO car.

Hey everyone,
I'm new to the forum and am considering to purchase a 997. Currently I own an 2017 M4 and I'm considering to trade it in for a 997.
Question is, the CPO 997 I have in mind at the nearby dealership is a '09 launch model 997.2 PRG color, sand beige interior and 82000 km on it. They are asking for 65k CAD which is equivalent to around 49.k USD.
Is this a reasonable price? PRG is not really the color I like the best but this seems to be a good deal.
I am meeting up with a salesperson at the dealership to get a quote on my M4 on Thursday.

oh just saw a later reply says it's a c2s... then i think the price seems fair.

Guys! The OP hasn't been around since August 2018. He started this thread and disappeared immediately.
Subject is still debatable, but OP gone never bought a Porsche.

Hello!
First time posting on the forums and also new to the Porsche world - you have a nice forum, have to admit!
I am in the market for 997.2 and I think that I found what I want. To be honest I was looking for a 4S because of the hips, but still, this 2S is loaded to the top and I've decided to give it a shot. Mobile.de URL
Already contacted the owner asking for the service history, accident reports, and VIN so he provided me with it: WP0ZZZ99Z9S711229
Coming from a BMW world (Happy owner of an X5 daily driver and an E30 in the garage) I always used to check my cars for options via VIN decoders. However, it turns out that with the P-cars it is not that easy...
I tried with many decoders, which I found here on Rennlist, but no luck. Even one of them is telling me that the car is Cab - weird, isn't it...? So, some help with the options list would be more than welcome!
Do believe also that many eyes see better than two. I am starring in the photos from a few days and I am not seeing anything wrong - would be happy to share with me if you see something, cos the car is not close to me - I am located a thousand miles from it and it is not an easy task to go just to check it in personal.
Also, on the other hand, I am considering replacing my X5 with the 997. I know that they are like from two different worlds, so what you think - does it gonna work?
Cheers,
Azi

Dang.. that is one nice looking 997.2. X51, aerokit, red interior. Thats quite a bit of kit there for the money.
oooh... well damn. I kept reading and see that its a re-import from UAE. Thats one thing I don't know too much about since I only moved over here to Germany in the summer. It seems like maybe people do not want to buy a re-import. But I am not sure exactly the reason why. Possibly because of an unknown history. In light of it being a re-import I'm not sure how that should impact the buying decision. I know that if I were to try and sell my 911 (imported from the US to Germany when I came over here) that I might have some challenges selling it, just based on how often I see ads on mobile.de saying "no import! German vehicle!". I guess it coming from UAE.. this could have previously been a 16 year old princes first car. I'm not saying one way or the other, but maybe something to consider.
edit.. yeesh, looks too good to be for the price, and perhaps it is

To be honest, this really makes me kinda wobbly.
Buying a German car, from Germany, imported from UAE is strange - can't deny, but the price...really attractive!
However, I am not buying the car with the idea to sell it or make a flip, at least not now. I really want to keep it and I am not even located in Germany.
What I am curious, are there any limitations (less power or so) for the 911s in UAE? For example like the ones with the M cars for the US market?

I don't have any reason to think the car itself would be any different. Could be a nice buy. I'd want a PPI and to check the car myself, same like any other 911.

Looks like a shady dealer with me, judging by a ton of misspellings in the car description. Might just be snobbism, but poor grammar/spelling in German makes me uncomfortable.

A decent list of options, that. My '09 has few options (heated seats, dimming mirrors, Carrera S II wheels, mobile phone, Bose, audio interface) but not the higher-cost items like PDK, Sport Chrono, XM radio and power seats. MSRP was $83.3K USD; I'd say car you're looking at was well above that. Good luck with your hunt. Wonder what dealership offer will be on your M4.
