Ever since I installed the turbo rear decklid on my C4S, I haven’t put back any emblems back on. Part of me likes the clean look, but I’m debating to put the rear badging back on. The original decklid had the factory optioned white lettering, and although I could do that, I did order an aftermarket black “Carrera” and “4”, with a red S. I thought it would look good since I have black TechArt wheels, but still haven’t pulled the trigger. I have seen the 991 “Carrera 4S” in chrome and I was thinking of doing that. It makes it a little classier and matches with the chrome rear tips on my PSE mufflers. I guess I’m asking what do you all think would look better...racey black with a red S or classy with chrome?

There are several pics here with the different options you describe. But could be a PITA to search.
I like "Carrera 4" in Black, "S" in red. But that's just me.

I've been running around naked for years. It's very liberating.

I have a c4s as well and did a turbo wing but had the top deck removed and I have no badging and think it looks simple and clean. Now get yourself a gt3 rear bumper and center stacked exhaust and the back end really changes!

I have an option for you, but it won't be cheap.
I had custom black and white Porsche crests made for my widebody Cayenne, but my wife wanted to stick with the original gold - brand new, never installed, and made by user intrepidagent that makes super high quality refinished crests. They started with a polished nickel base crest and then were solid filled with black and white so the surface is smooth. The posts were removed and the back has body trim tape adhered. The black would complement the wheels and the polished nickel lines in the background would go with the tips. I have 2 so you could put one on the rear and the other on the hood to have them match. I actually like a crest on the rear in that big open area and have a crest on the rear of all my Porsches. Could go on the decklid or the bumper.
PM me if interested and I'll come up with a price.

I would try the simple black 911 logo on a white C4S.

That seems like +1 up from no badges.
Then, if that isn't enough, go for the stock Carrera 4S in black or a stock color. I would not personally add the red S but keep it all one color.
I have only had my car for about 6 months now, and I have thought a lot about changing the stock Carrera S badge but then I just leave it.
I always debadged every car I ever had until my B8 Avant. I never modded any aspect of that car. After doing that for 3 years, I think I am somewhat broken and I am hesitating to mod my 997 at all.
