Default 295 vs 305 for 2007 4S

I’m purchasing a 2007 4S with EOM 19 inch rims. The rears have 305/30-19s. Can I put 295/30-19s instead with the 235/35-19 fronts?

When it comes to awd systems i prefer to keep the same ratio f to r as the factory setup.

I think this would be the same ratio. The only thing different than stock here would be the 295 vs the 305 width. You'd have to confirm, but I believe the manual would have 295 listed as an option for the winter tire width so you may be ok. I have never done this, but it's not sounding any alarms to me. I run 18" 265's in the winter on my 997.2 4S and have been thinking about going to 19" 295s.

if you change the width of ONLY the f or the rear you are changing the ratio. If you change BOTH the f and the rear by the same exaxt amount the ratio stays the same. Search: tire size calculator

read the tire guide in the owners manual or the gas cap or door jamb . use higher profile 35 (or 40) on front and lower 30 (or 25)on rear. The 235 with 35 is a ratio on height to width, if you go to 305 width the ratio changes , it changes the numbers. So you have to use lower height ratio number for the wider tire. You see 30, 25 tires in wide width, not 185-25, or 235-25, they make 315-25 and 325-25 and 305-30 tires to lower the height down to equal the narrow front tires ratios

I have 305/30/19 Rear / 235/35/19 Fronts on Turbo Design wheels on my '07 Targa 4S. I'm looking at a set of winter tires that are 295/30/19 rear and 235/35/19 front. Will that work ok?

Definitely fine with the 295 or 305's. I have both, the 295's are all seasons.
