Default 997.1 Tiptronic random key stuck issues

Dear rennlisteners,

Sometimes for some reason i cant remove the key from the ignition switch however the main problem is that the cluster shows “Lever in not P position” even though the car is in Parking and can be seen in the dash.

if i wiggle the key in the ignition key it will eventually be unlocked.

Has anyone seen this?
could it be an ignition switch issue or tiptronic related?

car is a 2005 997.1 S

User @ocmacman has this same problem. I believe he has traced it to a mechanical switch in the center tunnel with the Tiptronic shift lever and it does T know its in park when it is.

I don't own any 997 Tips so can't help you beyond that info and referral.

Good luck.
