Default 245/35/19 on stock Carrera S wheels?

I'm in the market for new tires and think I have settled on Michelin PS4S for my 997.2 Carrera S. Unfortunately, the stock 235/35/19 seem to be backordered. Is anyone running 245/35/19 up front? If so are did you move up to 305 rears or stick with the 295s?

On my 993, I moved up a size in front for a little more grip, but I haven't had the 997 on the track yet to know if that's good idea or not.

Stock 8x19 57 front, 11x19 67 rear wheels, no spacers, mostly street, but hope to find time for 2 - 5 track days this year.

I just ordered the PS4S 235/35/19 for my .2 C2S from tire rack a few days ago and no mention of back order. Was curious and checked tir rack just now and they are showing as available. Looks like I could have another set on my doorstep by Monday morning.

I did notice prices went up a tab over the last couple days on the front tires, they were $240 ea now $272 ea. When I bought it was $1,166 for the 4 tires delivered - $70 gift card.

I'm curious to know as well. Looking to solve some front end understeer and a wider front tire might help.

245 on 8" is not ideal (8.5" would be better) but will work. You will not see much handling differences especially on streets. We typically run 245s on 9" in 18" for track.

This comment surprises me since 245's come from the OEM on may cars with 7" wheels.
No way I would stretch a 245 on a 9" wheel. Cosmetically thay would like horrible. I prefer a 265-275 on 9" wheel from a performance and cosmetic stand point.

Not contradicting you at all, but that seems a very wide tire for a 7” rim, assuming low profile tires.

I just checked Michelin’s specs for their MP4S tires - https://www.michelinman.com/upload/m...t-sport-4s.pdf

It lists 8” as the minimum rim width for the 245/30R19 and 245/35R19 sizes.

Not wise, get the RIGHT size for the rims... 235/295.

you may be right. My wifes cobra might have 8" wheels

(Doesn't matter on the diameter of the wheel. 17/18/19)

305 looks better than a 295 on that 11" wheel.
Tire sidewall should never lean in.

They probably do, but the car seems to be a bit under tired up front with 295s out back. Hoping to remedy that with alignment.

I think 305 would only amplify the understeer unless a wider tire is fitted up front.

245 would be fine on a 8.5 or 9j wheel On a 8j wheel I would stick to 235mm
