I live in Orange County CA,
2010 997.2 Dark Blue Metallic
PDK, Sport Chrono, Sand Beige interior 27K miles!
No mods as of yet.
Thinking either Fister Mod on exhaust or PDE,
Sharkwerks Bypass pipe,
BMC or K&N filters
I spoke with Alex at Sharwerks and he explained there is no need for an intake. I know this is subject to debate
Unsure on ECU maps. So many out there. The whole CA smog PIA is a huge consideration.
Future Rims - on the fence as I like the AV Ruger Mesh, HRE, OZ, Champion, just to name a few.
Does anyone have any info on whether or not to go with 20" rims. I know that is another hot topic on the forum.
I have been looking at multiple RL member rides and my goal is to have that aggressive offset without spacers and not sacrificing performance. (Open to suggestions)
Yes I need clear/ smoked side markers any suggestions on where to get them. links are greatly appreciated.
Owning this car has been a dream of mine since playing the old school driving game Turbo at Jerry's Pizza in the BX. Though that was a slant nose it's my first experience with the 911 where I immediately fell in love.
Any suggestions input or help finding the best deals on mods and would be greatly appreciated.
I look forward to learning from you all and hopefully making some friends along the way. This is truly a sub-culture I am proud to finally be part of.

I got my clear sidemarkers from Suncoast. Super easy to do. There are a couple of you Tube videos telling how. Search the forum and you can figure out what offsets to use for no spacers. My new rims ( Starke Fuch replicas) from Tire Rack only had a set amount of offset so I still need spacers on my widebody. The fronts are the same as a narrow body ( factory was 57). My new fronts came in 46 offset, 11 mm more than stock. I'm still keeping my factory 5mm spacer for a total of 16 on the front. My rears are stock at 51 and new ones are 52 so I am using a 15 mm spacer). I guess the more expensive rims you can specify what you want. Have fun!

Unless you hate yourself, stick with 19s. Congrats on the new ride.
Do the sharkwerks bypass but skip the intake. 997.2 already has the best CIA out there. you could swap the filters to K&N or similar though.
How will you use the car? street? track? street/track?

Regarding the 20" wheels. Original poster stated interest in 20" wheels but also not wanting to take away from performance.
You simply cannot have it both ways. For the same wheel with the same construction the 20" will always be heavier than the 19". Heavier wheels = less performance.
Granted, a crappy, heavy, cast 19" wheel could be heavier than a high quality forged 20". But then there is the consideration of the tires too.
I'd say find the lightest 19" or 18" wheel you like and go with that. It's a performance mod if you make it a performance mod. Shaving a few pounds unsprung weight off each corner is definitely performance oriented!

Stay with 19s, 20s don't look right on the 997.

Your car is a 2010 so you probably know it will need the periodic smog inspections that are requird for registration renwal. That said, be careful (do your research) with what exhaust mods you choose as the majority are not CARB approved - and inspectors know which ones they are. FYI, I’ve read posts by people who keep their stock systems and switch them back in for inspection and then put the modified exhaust back on.
