Default Tire Size

I have a 08 Carrera and I'm looking to buy some new summer tires. A friend who owns a tire shop said he has a line on like new N rated summer tires but the rear size is 300/35 vs my current rear tires of 295/30. I have 19" rims. Would these work?
Thanks for any reply's.

assuming you meant you have 295/30 and are thinking of using 305/30. Yes you can do that on an 11" wheel. Porsche uses both sizes for the rear on the same width wheel.

Yes that will work, but what does “like new” tires mean? I wouldn’t put any used tires on my car unless I knew exactly why they are “like new”.

It is my understanding that a business partner of his bought a new 911 and changed the tires very shortly after purchase.

Check the DOT code dates. Don't use if over 5 years old.

Fronts and rears need to be the same brand and model too. Don't replace just the rears with zometgi g that's different than what's on the fronts.

I've not heard of the DOT code dates. Where do you find those on the tires? Thanks.

In an oval on the sidewall. Shows week and year of manufacture.
