Sorry to hijack but just a quick question for Doug. You mention that 458 often. I've never been fanatical about Ferraris but the 458 checks all the boxes for me. Easily the best looking model they ever built imo. How's the reliability? I like to drive the nicest car in my garage rather than just look at it 6 days a week so mine would be a DD which sounds worse than it is. Maybe 4-5K miles a year. If that. If I ever come across this car or its twin I doubt I'll be able to to hold back:

Very reliable and reliable as our Porsches based on typical use or what you would envision. I had one issue. The infotaoinment center needed a software upgrade to retain addresses for voice recognition calls. No mechanical issues. The 458 is an amazing car. I am not turned off by a sports or super car ride and feel on public streets. Some are. Drive one and decide for yourself if you could live with that as a daily driver.

SOLD...after eight days. It was an awesome car. Just not for me. Not sure how I messed this one up. 500 hours of research, 5 test drives, wanted one since I was a child. Missed the S4 the whole time. The S4 was sold the day I traded it in for the 997.2. So now I am leasing an A3 until I figure out what my next fun car is...

I've had a few S4s and an S5. Great cars. Check out the new RS3. One took us for a Parade Lap at Porsche Corral at the 12 hours of Sebring this year and 2 porsche drivers spun out with one of them totalling his car trying to keep up LOL. On a parade lap...

In total, if not break-even, I was up a few bucks. I got market value for my 2005 S4 (when I traded it in for the 997.2) and the 997.2 was easy to sell. So I have cash in my pocket even after getting into the lease.

That is exactly what I have my eye on, even before I started researching the 911 late fall. I will lease the A3 for maybe two years and find a nice CPO RS3. No manual, but that is the reality for many fast cars nowadays.
