You're wife bought you a DB11? Please let me know if you guys are ever unhappy together.

Interesting thread. I'm in car change mode here. I currently have a MkVII GTI for my DD and an 04 Pig for my truck. My thoughts...

1) Since I have a dog and need back seats occasionally, I want something that can tow 3000 lb or so with a rear area for the dog, rather than taking up the back seats (like in my GTI, where I have a sling). Replace the Pig with:
-Stelvio ti AWD
-Audi Q3 (I've heard yes and no on the tow capacity)
-Macan (but tow capacity is light)

2) Given a budget of $45K, replace the GTI with a 2+2:
-Used Evora
-Used 997
-Used Audi TT RS

Anything else to look at?

I can speak for the Elise. You won't regret it. Just make sure it will be your second car.

Love my Evora but am probably going to have to sell it soon due to the arrival of our firstborn this summer. It is similar to the 997 but then again very different. Handling is better and feels much more exotic. With the exoticness comes some trade offs in every day usability but it truly can be used everyday with minimal sacrifice which certainly cannot be said for the Elise/Exige.

It's more the 911 vs the Exige for me. Looks count for a lot. Evora doesn't cut the mustard with regards the looks. Ergonics was mentioned and that's the 911, say no more!
