Default New to me 997.2

So my first car ever almost 30 years ago was a Porsche 924. Just a few days ago I purchased my dream car since I was 6, a 911. I drove it 1700 miles to Texas over the weekend with no issues at all. I love the car. Now it is the time to learn how to take care of her, Sloan.

1. What manual does everyone use and where can I get one?

2. I live 2 hours from any Porsche or Indy shop so most of my parts will need to be mail ordered. Who does everyone use for Factory parts and who does everyone use for no. Factory parts? Back in the day I used Automobile Atlanta.

Thanks again for everyone’s help. You all were invaluable in helping me purchase the car.

Very nice car Brian !

Many of us order original Porsche parts from https://www.suncoastparts.com/ in Florida or https://www.sunsetporscheparts.com/ in Oregon.

There are many other sources for OEM manufactured parts including http://www.autohausaz.com/ and http://www.rmeuropean.com.

Congrats.

Go to eBay for a manual - can download for a few bucks.

For parts warehouse33 with the rennlist discount is usually the cheapest, also use pelican and ECS tuning.

Congratulations on the new car. A little strange and amusing. I just picked up a black on black 911 as well. I've dreamed of having one since I was a kid. LOL. My first car a red 924 Turbo below. While mine 911 is named Ada I did get the Ferris reference with her name. Awesome! Now if you tell me you also had an RX7 in the last decade I'm going to get a little scared. Congrats again on the car

That is awesome and a little weird. My 924 was a turbo also, charcoal grey though. Nope I never had a Mazda. What are the chances? You weren’t born in Michigan by chance?

Hey doclouie,

Yeah, quite the coincidence. I was born and raised in Southern California. Although, my dad did spend a few years in Michigan. The outcome is we are both Detroit Tiger fans! I watch them play against the Angels whenever they are in town. Now to go post in the Age and Occupation thread. Hope you're enjoying Sloan

Take it easy,

Victor

I just rolled 2000 miles since I bought the car 2 weeks ago and the oil level has not dropped one bit. That is a good sign for 74,000 miles.
