Default Bethesda Porsche oil change.

Took my car in for its yearly oil change today. This was my first time at Bethesda Porsche (previously Rockville Porsche, they just moved down the road a few miles).

They have a nice waiting area with all the typical amenities, but now in the new building you can watch them service your car. Looking over the shop is like going to an animal shelter, you want to take them all home.

I did give my Service manager Louis a hard time, my oil change cost a dollar more this year. With the new building and all, I guess that's not to bad. To help mitigate the expense I did help myself to an extra cup of coffee. Note photo below, the Porsche coffee cup works pretty well in the Porsche cup holder. Full disclosure, the cup was half full.

Funny note... the least they can do is give you a cup of coffee considering the "dealer tax". Not being critical of your beautiful car, but you are due for some new AC buttons! That's what i am doing this weekend.

At Tyson's the Porsche repair shop is upstairs, in the Mercedes building. They let me go back once to check it out.

I've picked up some new AC buttons, the V3 from clima repair, I was happy with how they turned out, big improvement over my current set. Will install when the weather gets warmer. I'll of course keep the original set, no plans to sell the car, but if I ever do, some folks want original stuff - even if it's not mint.

I agree on keeping the stock components. I am doing the same as i do some modest alterations. Part of my fascination with the car is making some mods and doing it on my own. I think all of us on this forum feel similarly.

Nice shop. The cup holder always makes me laugh. I can hear the engineers laughing and the accountants discussing the new profit stream from the PCM replacement revenue as they get flooded and short out.

Never seen the stitched leather dash vents. They look nice!

$275, for the oil change and inspection, and car wash. I was there for a couple hours.

That's not bad my Indy charged me 230.00 no car wash but it was in for a 60000 mile service and since the car was new to me I had no way of knowing if it was done, but he said all belts looked new and everything looked like it had been taken care of so just an oil change that day.

They also added z-max engine oil treatment and did a wind shield treatment to help it in the rain, all part of the package. Plus I get 10% off what every I have done next.

Nice shop, but I really think there is value in a good indy who will let you in the shop... standing under your car car with the tech while he checks the torque on your suspension and explains the hows and whys is priceless!

Thanks for the review Ron. I can walk to the new Dealership from home.
