They are a great product and well designed. Have one each for my MDX and 997. Wish they made a 993 version too.

Default Not legal in CA?

I know two guys who were stopped for other infractions, and cited for having these because, according to LEO, obstruct their view. Had to be removed. YMMV

Doesn’t surprise me in KA. But for now I will have them installed and when I escape it will be no issue.

In many states the law is written that you can't adhere anything to the windshield, which these technically aren't, but if the law us about obscured view through the wiper area of the windshield then that's a different story.

I simply hide mine on the driver's side, left of the rearview mirror. With the shading, it's not even visible from the outside. If I get pulled over, I plan to flip up my visor, effectively covering it. Wit the control head down in my console beneath my PCM, I don't even have to reach up to shut it off.

There may not be the very best detectors (there have been lost of debates here on that subject), but I really like the cordless feature, so I can use them on rentals. I'm on my third.

You can also buy a small clip that fits the device to the sun visor, making it much less obvious if you get pulled over (it looks a bit like a garage or gate opener) and it does not leave a clip on your rear view mirror that says "there is a radar decorator inside." Oh, and in CA I believe that it is illegal to hang anything from the rear view mirror-sorry, no fuzzy dice..,
