Had my 997 for a couple months now...why did I wait? It is simply amazing! I've had fast cars before, but always wanted a 911. I simply can't believe how it handles! Thanks to Doug M for setting it up perfectly with GT3RS suspension, it is perfect. Intuitive. The way the tail happily wags out to tighten the line toward the apex with a slight throttle lift, even on the road, is sublime! So much joy! I've never driven another car that's even close (and I've driven lots of Ferraris, Lambos, BMW's, etc.) I'm so glad I can post on a forum where people actually understand that feeling!

 

Yep - Once you get the bug and drive/own one it all makes sense.

Same here, going on three years of 997 ownership, wish I would have started sooner.

 

I know exactly what you're talking about. My Supra turbo is a fun little car but when I picked up my 911 last Sat, I realized how awesome this car is!

I'm still grinning from ear to ear and I've only driven it twice so far.

 

I'd never gotten a car back to my driveway without dreaming about my next car. That is, until 3+ years ago. I still haven't given a thought to my next car ... can't see a need 8)

Yeah ... waited too long while I was distracted by others 8(

 

I had 7 Corvettes but was not excited enough about buying the current one. A friend suggested a 10 year old 911 convertible in town for sale. I had never thought about getting one but went online to see prices, options etc. I saw a 2006 C2S in New York that looked great so I bought it. That was over 2 years ago and I still love it. I shop for a newer one on the Porsche website when I'm bored and I can't find a good reason to make a change This car is just about perfect..

 

Coming up on 2 years of ownership next month.. I definitely wish I'd done it sooner. I considered the 911 before I bought my previous sports car but I didn't consider it enough.
