Decent price for a 2009 C4s?
Hello Rennlist,
I am thinking about buying this 2009 C4S from a local dealer and while the miles are low, I can't help but feel's it is overpriced at $59,800.
It has 36,880 miles and it's the color combination that I like. Wheels are nice and so is the steering wheel. Any thoughts on fair market value?
I am located close to Chicago.
The window sticker is attached.
Cheers and thanks for any advice!

I looked at a 2010 C4S manual with 20000 miles at a BMW dealership near Chicago. It didn't have my ideal options and it had a fairly basic build. They were asking $65500. I offered $60000 and they didn't even bother with a counter offer. They sold the car the next week and I presume they got nearly full ask or very close to it. I certainly wasn't go to pay that price especially since it didn't have all the options I was looking for. If it did, I would have been more aggressive.
$59800 for the car you are looking at may seem overpriced but these cars are selling. Not too many 997.2 C4S's to choose from and the good ones go fast.
Good luck.

PDK
Offer 55-57.5k - also see if they did a PDK fluid change. They should have , that can be about 1k$. If it’s not exactly what u want, hold off - you will find it....especially if your looking cross country . I bought my 09 c4s (white/blue)with 121 sticker for $61,9 with 8800 miles 3 years ago in September - looks like they are holding very well.

I think it's all supply and demand at play here. There aren't too many 997.2 C4S in the market at same time, so your selection isn't plentiful.
I looked and searched for a Guards Red 997.2 C4S manual for a full year before giving up and settling for a Black one. Luckily, I almost got all the options I really wanted except for the PSE. If I had kept looking, I would still have not found that perfect car. Albeit the stock I sold to buy my black C4S 3 years ago would have been new car money today. I am not being remorseful, but just to point out that as the stock prices are at historical high, more buyer are available for these leisure cars thus diminishing supply.
Now, is $60K a fair price for a 34K mile car? Only you can answer that question. Are there other cars in the market with better option? How urgent do you need this car?

I would say $55k is a decent deal. However, if the sport bucket seats are still in the car, they are worth at least $5k to the right person so maybe paying over $55k is ok but make sure the sport buckets are still in the car.

Looks like based on the build the car had Sport Buckets seats that were stripped and regular base seats were installed. I just sold my sport buckets for $7k , you could try using this as negotation but i dont think they will care...

Mine is listed for 55k here in DC. C4S with six speed and up to date service. 2009 with 43 k miles and a few light mods. I was looking at a 2015 RS5 as I need a bigger car, Rockville Porsche offered me 44k. How nice of them. I know full well they would list it close to 60. That’s a sidepoint though. You can search the whole country and find maybe 8 or 9 997.2 C4Ss for sale with six speed. In fact there are far more turbos and GT3 variants for sale then a C4S.

A dealer near me, Jeffs Motorcars, has a 2009 C4S. They have been sitting on that car for months now. I looked at it in October and at one point they had it down to $56k or so, and it is back up to $59k right after the new year. Might want to look at theirs as well. Decently clean car from what I could see. I just couldn't deal with the sport buckets and didnt want to deal with swapping them even though I could have made money on the deal. But my point is, I am sure you could get them to come down on their price.

Agreed with all of the comments below. C4Ss are holding their value. But it sounds like this car has a lot of things to like based on what you are looking for. Offering a couple grand below asking and see where it goes from there......

Replacing the buckets with the base seats will disappoint some but will be welcomed by others. I like these cars a lot and hope you can work out a deal. GL, Dave

If those seats are still in the car they really should correct the build sheet for the seats just like they did for the wheels and the steering wheel. It's no small item. The sport buckets sell for $6K to $8K on the used market with ease so you should definitely use this to get the price down.
