Many opinions on tire options, but if you want the most performance out of the car, you should get the Michelin, this newer one is supposed to bit less noisy as a bonus.

This ++. On my third 997 now and have consistently bought two sets of rears for each set of fronts.

How much are the Bridgestone S04? I used to track with those street tires and they were fantastic. They would be on par with the Mich PS4S which replaces the super sports. For street driving, canyon carving, and other mild use you won't see a very large difference between tires. Whatever you get will significantly better than a worn out tire.
