There are exceptions. Like my current car. Had the GT2 carbon fiber buckets I wanted (about $9K), the Forgeline wheels I wanted (about $6,500) and the SW bypass pipes ($1K). So I gladly paid current market price for a bone stock car and got exactly the mods I would otherwise have paid $16,500 for at no cost to me.

Those are all high quality mods - not sure why anyone would downgrade their car and sell these off just to have one that's stock. The tune optimizes the better flowing headers, the HRE wheels probably look nicer than stock ones, have better offsets, and are probably lighter for lower unsprung weight.
