Default Recommended shops/dealers in St. Petersburg, FL

A very good lady friend recently got as part of a divorce settlement a fully optioned 2012 C2S. A couple of weeks ago she was quoted $550 for an oil change (only!) by a shop which I guess happens way too often when they see a woman driving a car such as this.

So for those of you who live in St. Pertersburg, FL, I would welcome recommendations for independent shops or maybe even dealers so that I can pass it on to her. Also and since I don't live in the US, can you please state what would be a reasonable price for just an oil and filter change in that area?

Greatly appreciate any help or advice.

+1

I bought a Cayenne Turbo S from a high-end independent dealer in St. Pete and took it to Burt Smith for the PPI, working with Bill Smith as the SA. They were ready for the car on-time, the tech did a thorough job and invited me back into the shop for the look underneath on the lift, and then I was able to accompany him on the test drive as well. Seems like a good operation from my limited but personal experience there.

25-30 mile drive away in Tampa, Bob Brooks at Vortex Motorsports http://www.vortexmotorsport.com/ $200 on the oil change at the dealer, less at an indie.

keep in mind that a dealer wants to do A service and B service, which includes checking everything and replacing some parts( maybe considered busy work). But B usually includes brake fluid. So 550 is normal for B service and we dont have a full view of what exactly they quoted. With expensive cars, you do a oil change, and theres more to the story.

I would stay away from Vortex. Very sloppy and slow work. I and some friends had bad experiences.

Best shops in Tampa Bay:
Engine Lab of Tampa
Vortex Motorsports Tampa
European Performance St. Pete
Eibell St. Pete
Chilly Performance Tampa
Then the Dealers
Each has their strengths and weaknesses, But for basic service, any will do, and be hundreds less than the dealers. An oil change on a 997 takes about 15 minutes.

My sincere gratitude to all who responded!

I passed on the information to the actual needed recipient, who BTW is going to take her car to European Performance. Fortunately she lives very close to their location, so it will work out pretty well. I also told her to take note and keep in mind Bill Smith at Burt Smith Porsche.

Again, thank you!
