Default 2007 997C4S coolant leak

Hi all,

Just walked out to this. Looks like the left radiator is leaking. Any idea what I'm looking at for cost? Thanks for any input.

The leak cause needs to be determined - could be a leaking connection, hose, pipe - or radiator itself.

Mine sprung the same leak a few days ago. Going in for service on January 2 — wish I could've done it earlier but this whole week is shutdown.

I hope mine can be fixed as easily. Did you do it yourself? If so, was it accessible via the wheel well cowling or did you have to remove the front bumper and rad assembly?

Now is the time to do every thing in your power from keep him from coming back. I had a mouse chew through the plastic high pressure fuel line by the fuel tank. $172 in parts, $3,800 in labor.

$3,800? Wow. The car was stored in a friends garage over the summer and no one was living there. Won't be going back!

jaysun: I didn't do it myself. It was accessible through the wheel well. Cost me $300.

You may want to burp the cooling system as air could have gotten into it as it leaked out.

I had my left radiator leaked about a week or so ago. FCP Euro had it on sale for $194.89 (Behr, shipped to your door). After ~4hrs of wrenching over the weekend, it's all good again. And yes, burp the cooling system after the replacement. Happy New Year everybody!

Yes. My mechanic didn't have what he needed to do that. He said he would come back if it needed it (he's mobile). Can I do it myself?

Just open (swing-lift up) the burp value (indicated in green arrow in the link below to the picture) while car is cold and drive around until coolant reaches normal temperature. Monitor the level of coolant and add as necessary... and do not drive too hard while doing this. You may have to repeat the drive 2-3 times until coolant level stays level. When done, just close the burp valve.

Thanks much. How did you know I was looking for where the burp valve was? lol
