New to me 997.1
Hello All,
Yesterday I picked up a 2005 997 6 speed. Guards red/tan with 40,000 miles. It seems to have a 2008 motor. Today I installed Tranzit Blue, clay barred the paint, and sealed it. Here is a picture of the end result.
The car appears to be missing the Bose amp under the passenger seat and has 18" wheels mounted when it originally came with 19's. The flywheel also seems to be causing a vibration at low speeds. But other than that the car is super clean!
Two questions:
Other than having a dealer code the car, is there anything I can do to eliminate the error caused by the fixed rear wing?
Why do these cars all sound like their batteries are weak?

Welcome! Guards red is really nice when taken care of. I believe with a Durametric you can disable the error code. By your comment I'm guessing it turns over slow and long. It can be a number of things. There are a bunch of recent threads on it. Mine was the starter, my dealer said it was the starter harness but I took the more simple route first and got lucky. There is also a fix for the cable from the battery positive terminal. I cleaned the post it connects to on mine also. It can get water in it and build up corrosion.

Nice looking car and welcome. My wife's '05 needed the wiring harness replaced to resolve her slow crank issue. The shop wanted to do the $800 starter, but I told them to do the harness first and it's been fine for a couple years now.
Also, you didn't say your car was an S so are you sure it has Bose as that was only standard in the S cars. The Bose amp for .1 coupes is in the frunk up against the wall with a second amp inside the rear subwoofer enclosure - the cabs have it under the seat and maybe the .2s.

The new Porsche dealer in Irvine has been advertising free Vehicle Inspections. I don't know what this entails, but this might get you to the source of problems. And perhaps they will code the wing while they are at it...assuming the car is still in SoCal.

Car looks super sharp. I like the black accents on the wing.

The slow start can be a number of things. It just takes some investigating and a multimeter to narrow it down. My slow starting was the starter. When I put on a fixed TT wing, I had to swap out the light cable and have my dealer code out the raise/lower command. Basically telling your car its now an Aero/GT3 etc. No more warnings. Where are you located So cal?
