Do it yourself, take it to a regular car wash, take it to a brushless car wash, have a mobile guy come and do it or maybe use the self service type? Just curious.
Detail it or get it detailed once or twice a year? Products you use? Good convertible top cleaner?
Just got my first Porsche and I'm thinking you want to treat it right. RJ

Burning Brakes
Myself almost always. When I brought 2014 Cayenne in to get the Diesel fix I said what the heck, they can't mess up as bad my other dealer. Welllll guess what I now have cobwebs for the first time in 3 years on my black Cayenne. It shows up in the Nov low sun.
I'll fix it with my random orbital. I've been detailing on the side for 6 years now and will wet sand when I have to. In this case it will be a 3 hour polish nothing more. See I plan to sell my Cayenne and when I say it is the cleanest daily driver on the internet for sale I like to be pretty confident I can stand by that claim.
When I go on runs with the Porsche club they'll be 30 other cars and they are some of he worst kept paint imaginable. I wish I was like that, unfortunately I'm not. What I do though that helps my clean decease is purchase a high mileage Porsche, clean it up once and then I don't worry about it. Sad I know, but I know I'm not alone.

All of my cars are regulalrly handwashed by me...I have never even been to a car wash...what is that? On occasion some of the cars are detailed...also handwashed.
Frankly, I take great pleasure in doing it myself in all weather conditions including when it is just above freezing. Relieves my OCD urges. :-)

Hmm. Drive or wash? Drive! I like to drive it in the rain, then wipe it down afterwards. I wash it myself if I'm out styling & profiling with the missus, otherwise I let the dealer clean it when it's in for service...T

I only hand wash now. I brought it to a high-end touch-less car wash a couple times until I realized the metal track shreds the inside of your left rear rim. If you need to take it to the wash ask them to hand wash it outside.
Congrats on the new purchase! Here is a post on all the things I learned in my first few weeks. You will have a blast. https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...ew-buyers.html

My recommendation for your first mods:
1. Fister exhaust. Its a must have.
2. AC buttons. Get the AC buttons fixed if you haven't already
3. Bluetooth. If you dont already have a Dension or Mobridge in the car, there is a new Bluetooth unit for streaming music and hands free calling that only costs $140. Another must have to bring the PCM into the modern age. Check out the post called "Lapower bluetooth" for a review.
4. Lowering springs. If you have an S you likely dont need Eibach lowering springs. I have a base so they were required. It gives it a killer stance.
5. Spacers. I would go with 15mms on the rear and 12-15s on the front.
If you are going to do your own maintenance I can send you some recommendations on the tools you will want to pickup.

If you wash frequently and have waxed the rims before, pressure wash cleans well. In any case, I spray a pH neutral rim cleaner, like Chemical Guys Diablo or P21S, or Griots (green) wheel cleaner. Agitate with woolies brushes.
