Default It just does everything right.

Not a post about a repair for a change!!

Drove seven hours in the 911 yesterday. The drive was... perfect. Normally after seven hours in a car my back is killing me. Not in the 911. There is no better long distance cruiser than these cars. They just eat up the miles. It's good to have these days to remind us why we obsess about these cars!! They just do everything right.

Drove mine yesterday just to warm the oil up for a change. It performed flawlessly. Then it rained during the change and I didnt get a chance to break the new oil in But I did start it to at least circ the fresh stuff and sounded so sweet. Cant wait till the next dry day.

2009 C2S 119K miles

I don't share this. I have those crazy seats that adjust every which way and am just not a fan. Porsche had nailed the perfect seat and have been using them for years. My Boxster S had them and they were great.... few adjustments, just well designed units.

These crazy adjustable seats just don't do it for me. I get leg and lower back pain after about hour three, and find the lower side bolsters too narrow even at their widest position and I am a slender guy.

Peace

Congratulations on finally pulling the trigger!! Don't keep us hanging... we need pictures and all the details. And I'm sure you appreciated more than just the seats on that ride home.

Edit - wait... now I see your "Finally pulled the trigger thread!" Congrats! I have one just like it, minus the S. 2006 Arctic Silver Cab with lobster fork wheels. Love it!

The most comfortable Porsche seats are the Adaptive Sport Seat Plus versions with the adjustable lumbar and the 2 extra air side bolster buttons on the front corner. They support your shoulders and can be adjusted to fit you perfectly. They got the general shape so right, I installed the non-powerered versions in my 928 Spyder and also made another one into my office chair.

If you're tall, the regular comfort seats just arent any good - the portion up the sides hits you right on or just inside the shoulder blades and after a few hours are painful - my wife has these in her car and they fit her fine, but not me.

The Sport Buckets look super cool but don't have enough adjustment options to get all the angles just right and be able to change them from time to time and still get into a comfortable position.

These are the Full power ones in my Silver 997

Bought used, but in perfect condition

Wrapped the backs of the 928 ones in CF vinyl since it's a convertible and they're more visible

928 in the car

Here's the desk office chair

Even installed a 12v Home Alarm battery so the power recline works - recharge it about every 6 months.

I've said it before, but the biggest surprise in my Porsche ownership experience has been what a great road trip car it is. Great, now I wanna do a road trip in the 997.2S. Blasted work!

I used to drive from my apartment in DC to my house in Florida a few times a year - about 17 hours. I would usually stop in a rest area and take a 2 hour nap at some point during the trip - adaptive seats all the way back like a business class cabin. I was never uncomfortable. The 911 is the ultimate road trip warrior. It's also great for scenic drives because unlike most expensive sports cars you can see clearly out of every angle!

Ha? You don't drive you car in the rain? Come to Vancouver, won't be ever driving the car!
