Default Front controller "light computer"

I have a 07 997 and i replace the controller, due to washing the headlights, and now the lights come on as soon as you start the car.
headlight switch is in the off position.
does this controller need programmed?
I installed a used one.

Sounds like Daytime Running Lights - DRL - compulsory in some markets, I believe this can be reprogrammed with Durametric.

On the other side leave it as is as it does you no harm and adds to safety!

On my own 07 997.1 you can program DLR via the PCM.

I can not recall the exact sequence, it is something like: MAIN | SET | INDIVIDUAL MEMORY | LIGHTS

If your used module that you installed came from Canada, there may be a chance the DRL function is hard coded into it. If not, either Durametric and/or the PCM should let you turn them off.
