No doubt a victim of Hurricane Harvey. Houston has several nice 997's that are done for. This GR car looked to be an especially nice build.....Hope the owner is OK and that this was the worst thing that happened to them from the storm. Cars can be replaced.

Three Wheelin'
Yes, I hope the owners of these cars are OK.
Makes you wonder...all of these cars have bids, and what will be done with them. Hope they don’t come back with “ghost” VINs and sold as 1 owner cars.

Hopefully they are parted out for the remaining parts that can be saved. The 997.2 Guards Red Turbo has to be one of my favorite cars. (I am biased <---- my avatar).....

The PCCB brakes on the black turbo are just about worth the asking price by themselves, then you have wheels, body parts, etc.

No idea if this is shareable or not, but for those on the Book of Faces, heres a vid of one of the lots with the flooded out Harvey cars.. Quite a few P-cars..

Yes, my guess is most of those cars will be parted out. Many of the exterior parts will be good, but the interior stuff people will want to stay away from. Definitely some nice cars that are now destroyed due to the hurricane.

My son in law had a chance to buy a brand new diesel truck for half of the $70k invoice price from a Houston car lot. The water was only up to the axles but when you think that it's salt water, and something like 100 mph winds, salt had to permeate every nook and cranny. Add to that the fact that it would have a salvage title and no warranty and I'm not sure even the parts would be worth it. I know of a person who worked at the lot who bought one, so we'll see if it was a good deal.

Where was the video taken? I know they are using Texas World Speedway as a holding ground, but I bet they have more than one lot for the cars. Some really nice cars in that video.

I don't know but I always pay attention to the weather for weeks before I go to Hawaii. If you knew this was coming like most with a TV did wouldn't you depart immediately with family first and property you came move second. I see the people in Puerto Rico standing line for ATM and food but after you already got hit (Which they knew they were going to) and you see a second storm coming get money from the ATM, Water and whatever else prior to.

Also, did you see the great lengths that this gentleman had to go through to save all his cars? Not everyone has the ability, foresight, or willingness to go through the same lengths. I think you (and most Texans at the time) underestimate the sheer amount of water (33 TRILLION GALLONS) that Harvey dumped on Houston.
