Ready to pull trigger...final price advice 2009 C4s 82k miles
Hi,
so I am ready to pull the trigger on a 2009 Porsche Carrera C4s cabrio, manual transmission, 82k miles.
Did the PPI and besides normal wear and tear and some basic maintenance car needs nothing major.
Over revs report was great, i posted it on another thread.
Below here for your review:
I am in the final negotiating process and I already have a number in mind.
Question for you guys:
What would you pay for it?
997.2 c4s had a msrp of 114k back in 2009.
Car was in a minor accident, reported to carfax, that does not affect the car whatsoever.
Your input, as always is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Not sure what I'd offer, however, as a point of reference the Excellence magazine 2017 - 2018 Porsche Buyers Guide lists a 2009 4S Cab between $50K on the low end and $65K on the high end. These price ranges are for cars in average to excellent condition with no repairs needed. They go on to say that cars can exceed these values based upon mileage and cars in excellent condition. Good luck, I have a 2009 C2S with manual gearbox and absolutely love it.

I see a 2009 4S Cab on autotrader, but with PDK, higher miles @ 95K, "clean carfax" for what it's worth, asking $41K. Might not be nearly as nice as the one you're looking at, but is at least one "higher mile" data point. I also see same model but with manual and 51K mi for $56K ask. Just 2 examples isn't very scientific, and of course we don't have PPI results on either of those......but my guess is if your car totally checks out, and you love it, a deal in mid-$40's would be a win and high $40's wouldn't be out of market.

How many owners? Does it come with all records, full service history? Last time clutch was changed? Tires? Brakes.
Too many things to be considered.
Basic options, if everything checks out, I would say mid 40s to high 40s for a manual car without full history. Good 997.2 car are really holding their value.

2 other owners.
clutch was changed last year.
2 front tires will need to be replaced and front brake pads.
as i said, nothing too major.
thanks for the input....

I would say high 30's to mid 40s depending on options and condition. It is the top spec, an S, all wheel drive 4 and cabriolet. Higher end if it is loaded with full leather, heated/cooled seats, exclusive options etc.

FWIW, here is a datapoint, when I was looking last November (11/2016) someone in CT was having trouble selling a nicely optioned ($117K MSRP) 2009 C4S MT cabrio w/ 80k miles for $46k on Autotrader, as i recall it had 2/3 previous owners and was in (considering the mileage) reasonable shape. Also, seems that cabrio demand / prices can be seasonal.

I would not pay 46k either.
We agreed on a more reasonable price
