Default Changing to RUGER 20" on my 997.1

2005 Carrera S has 19" lobsters now but going to change it up a little and get a set of 20" Ruger mesh. Because mine is an "S" sounds like I need the wide body offsets, so no spacers, which is great.
Thinking of running 245 35 20 front and 305 30 20 rear. - sounds like no concerns running the rear size , but some have had issues with 245 35 fronts. Maybe it was the type of wheel (brand) and offset they were using - I dunno ?
Thoughts based on experience ? THX !r

Your "S" is not a WB car. Make sure you get the correct offsets.

Hmmm... new to Porsches, I assumed that the "S" rear was a "wide" fitment because it is so different than the standard Carrera - wrong ? Previous owner fit 10 or 12mm spacers on the rear with Porsche lobster forks the fit is perfect, but want to change it up a little. Love the concave Ruger mesh look.

AG RUGER makes 2 offsets for the 997 rear wheels. Their fronts are only one offset.

Now I'm confused about rear offset - anyone know for sure ?

Also - original question - 245 35 20 okay for the fronts ?

Thanks for your help based upon experience ...

A typical offset configuration on a narrow body 997 is F45, R52 with 19s. Can't speak for 20s.

There are a lot of varring factors depending on the look your going for. How low are you, what tire size, what camber setting, etc... Those all can change the required offset. Do your research before you order.

A yeah - this is part of my research. Hoping someone out there has done this 20" Ruger wheel setup before and can share some of what they learned.

My questions :

1. what offset (Ruger offers 2 for 997.1) for the rears (using 305 30 20).

2. Will 245 35 20 fit in front replacing current 235 30 19 ?

thx

I would suspect the wide body offsets would look good....thus not requiring any spacers to give the right look. Like you, I would like to hear from another forum member who has done this prior to purchase.

I'll be following this thread, as I think the wheel (and offset) should look great!

Good luck

You've got 2 problems
1. 20" wheels don't look good on a 997 nor do they allow for enough tire sidewall for a good ride
2. Widebody offsets don't look good on NB cars even though some people run them - too much poke. Fronts of all the cars are the same.

In my opinion, on a NB car like yours, the GT3 wheel sizes and offsets are almost perfect. When I ordered my custom Forgelines, I tweaked the GT3 specs slightly. If you search for my WTB Marketplace ad from when I was looking for used split, 5-spoke wheels, before I bought the new Forgeline, I posted pics of different wheel offsets on my car in that thread.
