Default Paddle Shifting

I'm going to ask a horribly newbie question. I have a 2008 C2S Cab Tiptronic. I've never used the paddle shifters on the multi-function steering wheel. Do I need to lift at all when going through the gears or do I just put the pedal to the floor and shift when needed? Still have features I haven't used including PASM, Sport, etc. Looking to learn a bit here.

I don't own a PDK or tiptronic so maybe I'm wrong on this but I believe you don't have to let off the gas to downshift. It's a fast and smooth gearshift. My wife's BMW has paddles and I don't let off the gas to shift that either.

You have to figure it out for yourself and see the effect of lift and no-lift especially on down-shifts. Sometime you may want one or the other depending on what you want to do.

It's an -08 so TIP, not PDK. As you say, the PDK won't allow it to happen but what about TIP in manual mode?

You wont overrev a tip either, manual mode or otherwise.
