Default First Post - My 997

Hey all,

My name is Andrew, I'm 21 years old and I just purchased my first 997 - will be my daily driver up in Boston (where I work and go to school). It's a 2006 C2 (6 speed manual), 28k miles kept in immaculate condition by the last owner who had the car garaged in Arkansas - long way from New York. I was in the market for a 911 for months now and I stumbled upon this gem over at Collector Car Showcase over in Oyster Bay, New York. Amazing collection and the staff are 911 enthusiasts so buying from them was a pleasure. Anyways, the 997 was a dream car for me since middle school, and now it's finally a reality. Looking forward to years of ownership and learning more about my 911 on the forums!

Attached are some photos, plan on getting better ones this week (including interior). Also attached option list. Only thing I added to the car was an Xpel Ultimate film on the front half of the car, very happy with it.

Thanks guys! I already am hooked. I've driven a fair share of high-end vehicles due to the nature of my business, but nothing puts a bigger smile on my face than a manual 911. All started when I was a little kid, my dad had a 1987 930 turbo that he put 170k+ miles on and I thought it was the coolest car in the world (still up there). Would be awesome to get my hands on a '87-'89 turbo in the near future.

Congrats....I was eating Top Raman at 21 ahaha.

I sold a 911 to a guy who gave it to his son to go to college. 4 months later his son wrapped it around a tree with another student. Nothing was salvageable.

My 21 year old self got into lots of trouble with a 16 valve GTI (1988). Lord knows what evil things I would try in a 300+ 911.

Be safe, make memories.

Thank you, looking forward to the memories. This car is in good hands, not exactly my first rodeo with high performance cars. My first car was a 2006 Jaguar XJR that I modified a bit (tune, larger brembo kit, and cat delete). Got a fair share of tickets in that 400+ whp monster. Definitely learned my lesson, especially since I started paying for my own insurance about a year back. Driving responsibly to lower my insurance costs sounds like a great plan to me!

Congrats, great looking car. One regret I have was not jumping in sooner. I was twice your age (42) before joining the 911 club. Enjoy (responsibly).

Not all young kids are irresponsible, my father saved up $45K for my college tuition, when he found out I got a full ride 4 year scholarship, he gave me every penny of it. What does an 18 year old kid do with $45K, he goes to a BMW dealership and order himself a brand new M3. My dad's friends all said he was crazy and I would wrapped my brand new M3 around a tree. That never happened, if fact, I rarely drove it. It was parked at CSU collecting dust. I was too busy with college to drive it.

OP, congrats! I feel your excitement. I'm sure there will be more Porsches in your future. It's addicting and they are great driver's cars.
