2014-2015 GT3?
I currently have a 2011 Carrera S with 31K miles. It is a DD and it has been flawless, but I feel like it is time to move on. I am considering a 2014-2015 GT3 and have been searching online. There are a lot to choose from, but I am concerned by what seems to be a common theme.
Most of the "14 & '15 GT3s available have 3K to 10K miles. A few have more, a few less. The thing that concerns me is how many owners these low-mileage cars have had. It is not uncommon to see 2, 3 and even 4 owners on vehicles with 10K miles or less. What am I missing about the GT3 that would cause this kind of turnover?

The gt3 will be a rougher daily driver. It's more track focused.
They have mire more owner turnover because many people buy it and then realize that or they move on to a need shinier toy.
Or theyre track rats and want an rs.
also, the Porsche dealers give preferred treatment to the guys who buy the latest model. Want a 911r? Buy a gt3 for a spot on the list.
Get yje the car checked out and go from there.

I love them, that PDK is
Also looking to replace my 997.2 4S w/ one of these, sadly there's barely any inventory here in Canada.

^ Not sure where you're looking, but there's tons of GT3s for sale in Canada. Problem is they are all at or over sticker (even for 2014s).
Another reason for the multiple owners is the fact that these cars are trading at or over sticker, which means a lot of people are getting into the car for a year or so and essentially driving it depreciation-free.

This is also the generation of GT3 that was offered as PDK only. Once Porsche announced the newer one would be available with an MT again, I figured this would happen as GT3 owners who aren't just about lap times and actually prefer a MT for the driving experience, are likely trading up to the new car. These won't be selling above sticker for very long since the market is getting saturated - I'd just wait.

What are you trying to accomplish? What are the problems you are trying to solve? Yes, you might get 1.5-2 sec on tracks like LRP. Yes, the sound of that GT3 engine above 4.5k RPM is amazing. But remember, every trip to the shop will triple our expenses. Just because they can. On track, you will get more confidence but more responsibilities to match your skill levels with better machine. Get 07' GT3 for 85k and call it a day.

Plus the GT3's have some major engine issues. There are 3 version of engines out there. So not only does the 991.1 generation have engine issues, it is also only sold with PDK. Also, they made a lot more 991 GT3's compared to before.

I agree with Kisk. A GT3 is not a daily driver. In my view they are very focused, best of the breed. They are also very valuable and can be expensive to run. I have owned both. On the street there is nothing my Carrera S could not do that the GT3 does, expect being more comfortable. On the track, different story. Your Carrera is already one of the best sports cars on the planet.

go do the master PSDS 2 day program. you get to drive the gt3 RS on the second day. repeat that course until you get it out of your system, or decide you truly can't live without one.
it is a GREAT car. but totally impractical for everyday use - unless you live in a state with perfect roads and no speed bumps or sharp driveway/parking lot ramps, and have a lot of money to spend on tires and lawyers and front splitter replacement.
