Manual vs auto splash shield
So started task of replacing my shift cables.
Since the splash shield under the trans was damaged, I ordered a new one, and all the online sources listed the right part number for a manual as 996.04.129.01, but when I pulled the shield, I found that it was a 996.04.029.00 installed. The later number is what the on-line guys list as the shield for the automatics, and it has "horns" for cooling the trans.
All things being equal, I would think that more cooling is good, but what type of shield have folks usually installed in the 6-speeds?

I did some quick poking around and the xx.00 it the correct part # for the manual trans from what I can tell. It is the one with the vents.

Many thanks to the folks that responded.
It seems many of the on-line catalogues just have the attribution swapped. In the Porsche parts manual, it seem pretty unambiguous that the right part number is 996.04.029.00 (the one with the cooling "horns"), and other 6-speed owners have confirmed that my car does not seem to be unusual.
In the future, I won't be blindly trusting what the "guaranteed figment" systems say...
