Default Engine oil failure warning

I got a picture of a oil can failure warning and a beep, as I was driving. I didn't notice how many bars of oil pressure b/c it happened so fast, then warning light went out. Oil pressure and level are normal now.

Does this sound like a failing oil pressure sensor?

Yes, clean the spade connectors and make sure the stud nuts are snug, if it happens again pluck it out and replace with a new one.

Thanks! Is the sender near the oil filter?

Could be a failing sensor, its located behind the oil filter housing, under the divertor valves! Has two spade-connectors different sizes.

Can this be removed from the top? Do I need a crow foot or will a regular open-end wrench work?

Thanks!

Yes it comes out from the top.

Lower the engine a bit.

The best way is to lower the engine. And it can be done with a floor jack under the crankcase , you remove the two nuts on the aft engine mount (19mm deep socket) and you release slowly the pressure on your jack until you got about 4 inches. It will give you some space to remove the transmitter (or sender).... The torque for the engine mount nuts is 63 foot pound....

Does the car have to be lifted off the ground a bit? I would think maybe 10-12 in? Then insert jack and lower after removing engine mount nuts.

Thanks!

Depend how low your floor jack is and , of course, how high it can go.....

I was going to raise the car on the lift a few inches, then get the jack under the engine.
