Deal of the century???

An X50 996 for this price seems like a very good deal. It does have 90k miles but even so I've never seen one priced this low. My attention is drawn to the gt2 wing sitting above the rear fin..... was this really a factory option? How bout the "911 porsche turbo" emblems? Looks different.

There's no such thing.
If you buy a bargain priced Porsche, you're most likely doing it because there are big costs ahead.
There is no such thing ss a gt2 aerokit. There is an aero kit, but that is not it.
The add is cheesy. I'd pass on that alone not to mention the 911 turbo stickers on the back. Those are the 100% identifier of a douchbag owner

this car is being discussed here in urwastas thread.
personally i like much of what that car might offer at that price, and miles dont frighten me. particularly at 32k$
my advice is to have it thoroughly checked out by a pro, ask for a discount for the silly badging, and you might well have a terrific car. it ( iirc? ) has some good stuff already done to it. there is talk of it needing(?) a lifter replacement,..so i'd really look into that as a cautionary item but this thread might help.

It could be a tremendous deal...someone needs to drive that car and get her up on a lift for a look around.
Let's see an '04, X50, Sport Seats, (someone mentioned no accidents), asking $32k. Even if it was an 01 non-x50 with standard seats surely this car is worth a look see in person no?

Since I suffer from White Knight Syndrome (WKS) my impulse would be to rescue that poor car. Removing the lettering from the rear lid is trivial. Getting rid of the cheap Chinese wheels would be next. I have a stock blade to replace the bogus GT2 style wing...

ya i'm going to take a look at it next week. he's currently holding it for me. obviously it will be thoroughly checked out. it has been under national comprehensive warranty since he bought it (63000 miles) but expires the middle of next month and carfax is clean. it's been serviced during at least the last 2 years as I have all the service records. only time will tell though!!! As i said on 6speed it doesn't hurt to have a look and a ppi done. worst i'm out 3-400 bucks. he's even offered to drive it to cantrell for me to have the ppi done after i drive it (we are about 1.5 hours away)
anyway, I've spoken with the guy a few times and while i tend to be on the trusting end. He seems to be trustworthy.
he doesn't know much about these cars (hence the ugly stupid pitiful badging job) He's having a kid and wants a crew cab truck. stealership offered him 29 so he went to kbb saw that it was in line and decided to sell on the open market.
we shall see!!!!!

You are correct in that the purpose a turbo timer plays is to help cool down the car without you needing to sit there with the car. Typically this is done to help preserve the turbos/oil after hard runs.

See how the boost is when you drive it. Watch for spikes in boost. Misconfigured boost controllers can cause a lot of damage...
