....we have a winner!
BTW-I never realized how many 911 Porsches there are around metro Atlanta until I got mine..went to pick up an ice cream cake at BR for Christmas, new P car in the crowded parking lot. Pulled into a small parking lot way north of Atlanta, Dawsonville. And there was a 911 Cabrio...not counting the card I now notice passing daily...

.... but in thirty years who will be buying Porsches? Little boys and girls who liked HotWheels....
My point being two decades ago 17" wheels were considered a bit much. Cars are fashion and fashion is for the young. The younger you are the bigger the wheels you like. Porsche as already hooked us into buying their cars, who do they want next? The young....

I hAve raced karts since 1958, when we could get 400 karts to show up at a regional event. Now I would be glad to pull 100.
You are correct in looking to the future for continuation....

Excellent point-I was skeptical of drifting til someone pointed out that it was contemporary motorsports and keeping the young interested.

I also agree with you. I prefer 19" wheels on the 991. But the future is not for us.

if your suspension is right, they work pretty good...

Three Wheelin'
I like the way 19s look, but they look out of place without a big brake kit to fill up the space. I had 19s on my C4 and liked how tight it made it feel. However the 18s on my turbo make up for it with the nice ride lower noise.

I agree with Kc, if I could only have 1 set of wheels for the 996t they would probably be 18" and I feel 20" is just too big (though I have seen some 6t's that pull off the 20's some how).
Depends on the Porsche though, I've got 20's on my Cayenne and I think it looks perfect. 955 Cayenne Turbo S I believe came with 20" sport technos. Mine was built with 19" Cayenne Design wheels (which I still have, and love how they look on the truck) just wanted to change it up a bit. Went with light weight 20's so I could maintain factory overall diameter and factory Turbo S tire sizes. Ended up losing close to 14 lbs per corner of unsprung weight going from my stock 19's to the 20's I have on there now.
On the 996T I feel the 18" Twist is literally perfect. My car was built with Sport Technos which I love as well bc they are sort of a twist on the Twist and you don't see them too often. So Ive got 3 sets of wheels for the 6T : Twist, Sport Techno, and my OZ wheels which are 19" but I maintained the front to rear tire diameter ratio to keep awd happy, lost a couple pounds (yup, even though they are 19" they are lighter than stock hollow spokes), and changed up the look in an easy to reverse manner

BTW, even on Hot Wheels.. factory sizes seem to look better VS Hot Wheels sizes!! LOL
Here are two of my 993 GT2's. The ones with the orange wheels are the limited (harder to find) rubber tire versions. Along with rubber tires, they also have smaller wheels. I would definitely choose the rubber tire version over the Hot Wheels wheels...lol...but why not have both, twice
