Coupe vs Convertible

Hello everyone!
Brand new to the wonderful world of Porsche & currently shopping for a 996TT.
I have noticed that Convertibles are a little less than Coupes.... I would prefer a coupe but is there any downside to having a convertible? The bottom line is I would like to find a nice, low mileage, 100% stock, non-tracked turbo. I intend for this to be my daily driver and keep it for quite some time!
Also, any options that are a must? Any advice is much appreciated...Thanks everyone!

Back to OPs question.
As stated above cab rear seats are a tight fit due to the straighter back.
You also give up the storage behind the rear seats that the coupe has.
I love that the cab is like having 2 cars. Open air driving that is weather tight with the rag top when needed. Quieter with a little more head room and better visibility with the, ~74lb, top on.
I had a 2003 C2 cab. It was tight with no squeaks/rattles/leaks at 60k when I sold it.
I now have a 2004 996TT cab with ~20k miles. The turbo is a little nosier at the header/top joint. I suspect it is because of the added torque/HP it is subjected to??
I have three of the TSBs for noisy cab tops to run through when I get time, probably after 1st snow.

Get what you really want. You can't go wrong.

I like both, the Cab can have its problems but overall is a pretty good system but can be an added cost and maintance item. The top down look of the Cab is really sexy. The chassis might only be 1/2 as stiff as the coupe but at nearly 12,000nm per degree it's still a good chassis. To compare a 993 coupe is 14,000nm per degree and a 959 is like 13,000. I would buy the car you want because you can't go wrong with a 996 or 997.1 turbo.

Hey, good luck on the purchase. I literally just bought a 996 turbo about 2 weeks ago. Mine is a Coupe and I am awaiting delivery for it (couldn't get away from work to go bring it home myself). As for the convertible vs. coupe business, if you don't mind the look of the rag top, get it. Absolutely get it. Having owned convertibles in Alaska, Eastern Washington State, and Michigan, I can tell you that when you put the heater on in cold weather, which you would do anyway, you don't notice a difference. You would probably get a little more wind/road noise, but I thought it was dailyable
Just my two cents. Also, my dad had an old Saab 900 turbo with a rag top, also in Alaska, and he didn't have a problem with it at all. Though his car had heated seats
Let us know how the hunt goes!
Cheers,

Thanks everyone for all the info! Well, I think I found her...2002 996TT, 24,000 miles! Have history and most records ...Had the PPI done from a third-party and the mechanics said that is one of the cleanest Porsche's he has seen in a long time...It passed with flying colors! Thanks again for all your time and efforts...greatly appreciated!
