Using my 996TT this time for the 1130 mile commute from Omaha to Syracuse that I do 4-5 times a year. It's quite a comfortable ride. Averaged 26.4 mpg yesterday between Omaha and Cleveland. Was over 27 mpg but came down after I got into pouring rain.

They are meant to be DD. I actually have less problems since I began truly DD mine. I just park it in the heart of winter (because of salt and s#it). & 18mpg ain't too bad. Just drive em & enjoy em I say, they aren't Ferraris or Lambos.

ya, it's laughingly stupid. i like to always top off when i park it. the nearest PETROL is 20 miles away. by the time i've driven back up the hill and if i'm pushing it, nearly an 1/8 tank is gone. for those of us who like fluid levels to stay full it's a real ocd antagonist lol
fully agree also re regular workouts and things staying working. meant to be driven daily, these are.

1190+ mi into the trip in Syracuse and still averaged 26.4 overall. Might go down a bit when I turn into the wind and head back to Omaha. Always does when I take my Touareg on this trip. Oil is still one bar from the top as it was when I changed it earlier this year. This car is a real highway cruiser.
Oh, and I see around 6-7 mpg when I do track events in it.

i swear. 10mpg pushing it on mtn roads. though i can smell probably 5 miles a gal alone in just fumes out of my decat pipes lol
door dings suck. i got a guy w a remote truck to come to the house. took 5 dings off in 1.5 hrs for 200. even one on the hood below the wiper blade everyone said couldn't be "suctioned" out with a PDR guy. PDR is the cure for door dings but not the assh*les that leave them carelessly on our cars. grrr.

I drive mine out to the shop and back when I can. 50 mile round trip, 49 on the freeway. Sometimes I'll drive it every day for a week; other times it will sit for two months. Will be driving it more again as I've cleared out a space in one of the warehouses where I can store it overnight. Else, it's a '98 F-150 with a V6 coupled to a 5 speed..........

Drove mine pretty much every day last spring/summer and fall, ended up putting on a total of 8,000 miles. So far this year only drove 150 miles as having been super busy that I have not had a chance to drive or put any of the new parts on it

Been DD for a little over a year now, about 15K miles, getting about 17.5 mpg but on road trips 23-24 seems achievable. I really like driving it, personally, I like the stock 'soft' ride and like the manual trans, the handling is good enough and the power is awesome, it's always there, you know just in case
