My car is black and I still want to do that.

 

I love the look of a painted front lip, but I love even more having an unpainted lip that I can swap for ~$100 when it gets damaged.

On a lowered car that is driven frequently, it's a question of when, not if...

 

...and the GT2 lip is ~$300.

 

I'd like to make some sort of quick release so that I can take it on and off, like for when I want to put it on ramps or when I take it to the shop.

I can't paint the lower lip red because I occasionally don't traverse steep approaches correctly or hit dips in the road that leave me with a scraped lower lip. Removing the lower lip, hitting it with a little sand paper and then hitting it with a rattle can freshens it up and gives me satisfaction for little $. But the lower part of the rear bumper is a great idea! Thank you! Getting the two black bumper carbuncles painted red, as well as that black area would be a big improvement.

 

Anyone painted the bumperettes body color?

 

Lots of 996 Turbos have bumperettes painted to match the body color.

 

BumperPlugs.com will paint them factory colors. This was the first mod I did to mine.

Yes, there are not all that many in white. Found a Turbo S in white early last year and jumped on it, and I've not seen another, which I'm sure are out there.
