Or ... as in the example above ... high miles.

That 997 had 84k miles, when will people learn that sports cars with high miles will most always be priced low. Not saying they are bad cars. Better off to pay a little extra up front for a nice lower mile car with records. Most understand you get what you pay for.

I'd take a well documented 80k mile car over a 60k mile car. 60k to 70k miles seams to be an expensive time for these cars. The only 996tts selling for $50k plus are the real low milage cars, 25k miles and under.

I too do not consider 80k to be "high mileage" on a well maintained Mezger engine. Service records and overall condition matter quite a bit.

My 996TT has 60k on it and nearly everyone who compliments me on it thinks the car is brand new.

That car didn't sell. 997TT's are still in the 60's unless you get lucky or are buying a suspect car.

What they actually sell for is a guess and I'm sure a lot sell in the 50 k area, Kevin a sponsor here has mentioned many times how he gets calls for nice examples regularly. To say 60k to 70k is an expensive time for these cars? I would much rather have a well documented 60k car than a well documented 80k car all being equal= so would most people. Edit I'm talking 996ts not 997ts.

Well this thread was about pricing a 60k mile car. It seams that a lot of money is spent on the 60 K service and often includes a clutch. Also many appear to go through an alternator and slave/accumulator at or around this time frame.

Slave and accumulator would have been great, I ended up with a trans refresh too. Lots of stuff on a 10-15 year old car to replace if you like things to be like new or close but don't want to spend $150k for a new one.

Come on man. You're using eBay as an example? Watch that car get re-listed next week. You can't find any 996 X50/PCCB 6spd Coupes in the 60k mileage range for low $40k or higher $30k range. Yes there some bottom of the barrel 996tt coupe/6spd examples out there in your price range but we are talking about clean X50/PCCB equipped vehicles.

No not yet. I got a couple of leads, 05 TTS 20k miles for $51000 and a rennlist member selling his, still negotiating. So right now, I think you can get a 996 TT for less than 55k. By this week I would know.

Honestly, I am not sure I am comfortable buying a 60 k mile car, especially I do a lot of cross country driving.

My DD cars right now, my highest mikes are 35k, and when they reach 50k mi, I trade them.

If you can buy a 05 TTS for 51k bucks with 20k miles that is stealing the car, assuming it's a manual.
