This allows me to put my posterior over the seat while in large part avoiding both left side bolsters. When I get out I put my left hand on the lower back corner of the door opening (there is rubber molding there) and use this to help push myself up and out of the seat, avoiding in large part contact with the side bolsters.
I go in butt first into the center of the seat and swing my legs in. I exit the same as you.

I concur, that seat shows quite a bit of wear for 10K miles. Probably a combination of driver wear and lack of conditioning.

Does this seem like it's too inexpensive? 2002 Turbo $39k with 6 speed manual and 75k miles. I don't see anything wrong with it. I don't recall seeing a 996T coupe with a manual at this price anywhere.

That does seem a little low in today's market, but with that said, "prestige buyers" willing to pay top dollar want to see fewer miles.

For a buyer looking for a driver, 75k miles is an awesome sweet spot.

A few weeks ago someone else on this forum was looking at this same one, looks like they didn't go for it.

Good deal if it's in good shape, but not silly cheap.

Note that it's also in upstate New York and its mid November. Checked the current weather, 27 degrees and snowing.

Bidding just opened on this one on BaT:

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...11-turbo-s-15/

Silver over black, 36k miles, '05 996TTS Coupe. Unfortunately, it's a tippy. Also, I think this is a horrible time of the year to be selling - maybe there's someone shopping for a "December to Remember" Christmas present, but otherwise a bad time to sell. Better to just keep it until March.
So, thoughts, predictions? I'm going to go with Reserve Not Met with a high bid of $50,000. I'll bet the reserve is set around $55k. Same car in a 6-speed in March would pull $70,000. What say you?

KCATTY,

Love the car, I put in a good bid to get things rolling. I'd probably buy at $50k all in.

Nice work, rael!

And who is this KCATTY you speak of?

(I guess I should change my BaT username too, eh? But, for some reason, the lawyer-bashing seems limited to Rennlist, although in fairness, primarily the Off Topic forum where I'm loathe to go anymore)

I've seen the black car at Keeler and it is a mess. Poor bondo repair on the roof looks like it was painted with a brush. Dealer tried to wet sand but still bad. Clear coat starting to peel on roof near sunroof. Dent in rear lid repaired poorly by dealer. Bubbling in paint on two wheels near valve stems . Both front fender liners torn. Underside looks like it was driven on salted roads. Interior is nice. Dealer took in as trade in one of their high end shops in CT. No paperwork or maintenance records.

Well, price went up quickly. 1 Day in and it's already at $50K.

Yup. That's a strong bid. It will be interesting to see if anybody bids on top of that. Hopefully it goes way higher. At this point, I think there are more positive comments about the transmission than there are haters, so maybe that will help.

Yeah, that seems like more of a "Craigslist thread" car rather than a "Prestige thread" car, but no matter. Price is down to $38,500 asking. I think I'd put that in the "priced appropriately" category though, based on 88mm's comments about the flaws with the car. They aren't asking $50k, and if you could get that car for $36k, it would probably be a good deal. Nowadays, any car with a price starting with a "3" is going to have some warts. 3 years ago, $38,500 could get you a pretty decent 996TT, but now that's the bargain basement. Nothing wrong with buying a car in the $30k range, especially if you plan on driving it a lot. But just understand it won't be pristine.
