By the way, I'll take $40k cash for mine right now. I was looking at several others in the low to mid $30k range that I'd be more than happy with. That will make the wife very happy. PM me for my contact info. No lien on the car. I can take a wire transfer today and sign the title over. Pick it up here at the Kansas City Automotive Museum as soon as you want. It's sitting out front, I'll have the curator pull it into the museum and put it on display until picked up. Now has 49k miles on it since I drove it home from New York.
PM me the wire info, title history and PPI report you pulled when purchased. Assuming good, I will wire you money and send transport. Please send pics showing good condition. I'm serious. Sold.

I think the notion that the 996tt will be the least desireable turbo isn't necessarily a fair assessment. I've owned a 993tt, 3 996tt's, and a 997tt. I bought my 993tt for 50k, which was obviously bottom of the market, and made good money when I sold it. The 996tt's will creep back up, for several reasons:

1) manual transmissions
2) Mezger engines
3) phenomenal performance

These cars will be measured just like all of the rest in terms of prices. Highly optioned manual transmission cars with low miles and desireable interiors (tan and grey interiors are killers, same with supple leather) that are stock or mostly stock will demand the biggest dollars.

Plus, a bit lighter, a couple inches shorter and a bit simpler (less electronic) than the 997. And 5 inches shorter wheelbase than a 991!

Totally. I'd like to buy a car with aftermarket nothing. No exhaust, no coilovers, and definitely no tune.

How long have you been clairvoyant? I'm sure it really helps you in the stock market.im not, but i have been driving porsches for 20 + years and have owned about 25 of them, i have NEVER heard otherwise about the 996t when compared to other 911 turbo generations. for what its worth i like the 996 turbo, i have owned 2 or 3 of them and never had an issue with any of them, however, i wouldn't pay $60k for one today either

For some people, the money isn't a problem. glad to know, i do not buy on price either, i buy what i want but I'm not foolish with my money either, to each there own

I disagree.beautiful thing about America, we all have the right to voice our opinion

In the market for a good cab for as little as possible. Soon as I buy it, it will immediately be worth at least $5k more than I paid for it.

As always, a car or anything else is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. The car in question may well be worth $60k if someone wants to pay that for it. As an owner, I hope it is. As a buyer, it's definitely overpriced.

We will never be able to ascertain what something is worth. The only real meter is a transaction. I spent a 30 year career selling companies. Trust me, I know of what I speak.

Which is it. Two or three?

But that of course doesn't mean that $60k is out of line for that car.

And I'd opine that someone paying $60K for that car doesn't make them foolish.

not really, the 996t has the worse lines of the turbo cars by far and when driving it it seems very big and heavy, great performance but theres more to a car than that

Regarding the car that sterrico posted about: for someone who is looking for that color combination, condition, and miles, the premium could easily be worth paying.

Purely opinion, not established fact.
