Seriously thinking about this car

It was uncool to post a pm for others to see, I guess my point is that it's on a car forum and at the end of the day it's not like it was Hilary sending an email to Obama about how stupid Americans are.

But are you as fun at parties as I think you are? That's the question the American public wants the answer to.
When do they want it? Now.
Not really, because no one cares.

the attorney was just defending his position in regards to his car. The poster made him a sight unseen offer, then backed out. the attorney could have simply paraphrased the PM conversation but chose to let everyone know what was actually said. To me, that was the most fair way to go about it. After all, attorney's are famous for purposefully saying things out of context, twisting words and generally being untruthful. I believe they actually get paid to do so.
Like Atrox said, just let it go. You will feel better. I think.

I think the rule here exists as an attempt to motivate people to be ethical and courteous to others on the forum. I think that for many people the rule wouldn't be needed, as they naturally understand what the "P" means in PM. But not everyone here is ethical or courteous, so rules are created to encourage them to be those two things when posting.

The offer was clearly made with conditions; conditions that one would think would be clear to even an 1L student. There is no such thing as backing out of a deal when the conditionals don't work out. In the case we're talking about, I see two reasons why kc should not have posted the PM: 1) there is a rule against it (it's a good rule), and 2) there was no reason to post it since the deal fell through because the conditionals made in the offer were not met.
The forum rule against posting PM's on the public forum does not say that the rule does not apply to anyone who wants to attempt to spear/disparage/call out anyone who they think deserves that treatment, so those here attempting to justify the PM posting by opining that it was somehow "deserved" are doing so without any actual rule substantiation. And once again, I will opine that that the majority of people here don't need the PM rule, as they are conscientious enough not to engage in that kind of behavior.

So let me get this straight. One can be the hero in public but be a complete *** in PM world and that's what, "gentlemanly"? I know that's the norm if you're in politics, but in an enthusiast forum you should expect to be scolded.

You appear to have mastered the art of opining. It's always humbling to see a master working his craft...I can only imagine this is what Michael Moore must feel like when he sees someone eating a cheeseburger.
