Default SHIFT-RIGHT Solution: Ball Bearing Shifter Kit

After many months of designing and testing, I'm excited to announce that the SHIFT-RIGHT Solution - ball bearing shifter retrofit kit - is ready for market! This will entirely eliminate the excess play and flex from the stock shifter assembly.

The kit replaces the plastic/rubber bushings of the OEM shifter assembly with high load thrust ball bearings, as well as integrating a hard anodized and Teflon impregnated aluminum shifter yoke that also rides on ball bearings. It's compatible with all OEM shifters, and most aftermarket short shift kits. Your stock shifter and cradle are retained with this setup.

For full details, click here to check out the product page. The installation instructions pdf can be found at the bottom (the process is very similar to installing a short shift kit).

All 3 pre-assembled shifters are spoken for.

The SHIFT-RIGHT Solution is now only available in retrofit kit form. Check out the installation instructions for full details - it's a fairly straight forward process, similar to installing an aftermarket short shift kit.
(I also documented steps for 996/997 center console removal.)

The installation instructions PDF can be found at the bottom of the product page.

Only 1 996 kit left in stock from this production run!

(once sold, it will be appx 1 month until they're back in stock)

Planning on installing mine this weekend, I'll report my results. The quality of the parts in the kit are top notch, I'm really looking forward to no wobble in my shifter!

Shifter installed Friday night. I started off with the pre-assembled kit that Luka offered up which consited of the shifter housing, his bearing kit and the standard shift lever. I wanted to compare the standard gait to the SS gait I am now used to.

Luka's instructions were perfect, I had absolutely no issues removing my console or installing the modified shifter. Once installed, I drove it maybe 20-30 miles and while absolutely butter smooth shifts, they seemed really long compared to the SS I am used to.

I'll start a new thread on my Short Shifter refurb to keep this strictly about the FF bearking kit. (I think it is a Ralcorz kit)

Highly recommend, whether you have a stock shifter or a short shift kit, it removed all the slop in the pivots and transfer mechanisms. I think it actually helps the 2-3 shift smoothness as well where it used to hang up if you tried to force it too quickly before, maybe since there is ZERO play now, it's just straight shooting.

Very satisifed

Bill

Also, since I had the pre-assembled kit mostly apart to install my SS kit, it was pretty easy assembly as well, so don't be intimidated to DIY.
