Default Type 2 over rev Question

Guys

One of the two TT's I am looking at has a type 2 over rev. The car runs fine, starts from cold fine etc. The tech said it did not seem to cause any problems.

Can you guys help me read this. He said approximately 9 hours of operation ago this happened. Is this true?

I have been reading and trying to do the conversions but still am confused.

It's just as it says. The car has 9625 ignitions in range 2 (over redline) and the most recent were about 9 hours prior to that readout. Others may disagree, but 9625 seems very high to me for a car with no aftermarket tune, as indicated by the 1 programming event (the factory installing the tune). I suggest you proceed with caution on this car.

Looks true, Tim. Last over rev was at 2432 hrs and total hours is 2441. But, I will let the experts chime in as well.

Good luck on the car!

It HAS been on consignment for 2 weeks. But It seems to be a stretch that there has been 9 hours of test drive time.

range 1 6750 to 7250 rpms over 6000 times

range 2 7250rpms + over 9000 times

most recent event was 9 hours ago.
If you have a tune, new redline could be aove 7250+rpms and the range 2 would be "normal"

They think it has a tune. But no papers to back it up. Supposedly GIAC.

range 2 is above 7250 rpms....could be 9000 rpms....996 do not have range 3 -6 like other models to indicate better breakdown of rpms. No way to tell duration on 996

The car shows 1 programming event. That's the factory default. So unless there's some other hoolie-goolie going on, this car has NO aftermarket tune.

1 thing that can be calculated at is that at stock redline 6750 rpms,
it has spent a total of 19.7 seconds at or past 6750 rpms since new.
thats using range 1 numbers but you can't make any calculations based on range 2 ignition....
