Thumbs up '03 X50 specs in Oct. Motortrend

Just wondering if anyone else has seen the numbers on the '03 X50 test by Motortrend. 0-60 = 3.7 and 1/4 = 11.8 sec.

I just looked at the article. It was in an issue entitled "New Cars For 2004 & 2005", so I suspect that it was a model year 2004 X50 they tested. However, as far as I know (and I asked my dealer several times) there are no drive train or transmission changes from model year 2003 to 2004, so it's basically the same car. Alfie, is this correct?

Porsche has not mentioned that there is a power increase for 2004, though the current order guide with pricing is not quite complete and not quite correct, so i cant say yet with any certainty.

The latest order guide with prices, dated 9/9/03, states a BHP of 415 and X50 is still listed as a $18k option. If there was going to be a power increase for 2004, I'd hope that we'd have known by now.

Yep. I saw that too. My guess is that either Porsche gave the magazine a ringer, or the factory is understating HP (or both).

Motor trend has a past history of looking favorably on automakers that generate lots of ad revenue.

Motor Trend tested a 993 Turbo S in September 1997:

0-60: 3.6 seconds
0-100: 8.9 seconds
1/4-mile: 11.9 @ 116.6 MPH

I would expect a bigger difference six years later.
